Candle Care
Candle Care
At Candleaf, we want you to enjoy every fragrance safely while getting the best performance from our products. Follow these simple care instructions to maximize the life of your scented candles, reed diffusers, and linen sprays.
1. Before Lighting Your Candle
Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm). This helps produce a clean, even flame while reducing smoke and soot.
Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials.
2. First Burn Matters
The first burn is the most important.
Allow the candle to burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the container. This usually takes 2–4 hours, depending on the candle size.
This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn throughout the candle's life.
3. Burn Time Recommendations
For the best performance:
-
Burn your candle for 2–4 hours at a time.
-
Do not burn for more than 4 hours continuously.
-
Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.
4. Wick Maintenance
Before every burn:
-
Trim the wick to 1/4 inch.
-
Remove any burnt wick debris from the wax.
-
Keep the wax surface clean and free from matches or dust.
A properly maintained wick provides a brighter, cleaner burn and extends the life of your candle.
5. Candle Safety
For your safety:
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
-
Keep away from children and pets.
-
Keep away from curtains, paper, or other flammable materials.
-
Never move a candle while the wax is hot.
-
Extinguish the flame before leaving the room or going to sleep.
-
Stop using the candle when approximately 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) of wax remains.
6. Reed Diffuser Care
